Cold Autumn
๐ Cold Autumn ๐
A cozy little temperature management game about keeping your autumn home comfortable.
The heating never stops, but neither do your problems! ๐ฅ
Move between three rooms, open and close windows, and keep an eye on the temperature. Let a room get too hot or too cold, and your entire home's comfort will suffer.
Every room keeps changing even when you're away. Can you find the right balance and keep your home comfortable until time runs out? ๐ก๏ธ๐
๐ฎ How to Play
- ๐ Manage three rooms. Each room has its own temperature and heating behavior.
- ๐ช Open and close windows. Let the chilly autumn air in to cool down overheated rooms.
- ๐ฅ Keep an eye on the heat. The heating is always running, so closing a window doesn't mean the temperature will stay the same.
- ๐ก๏ธ Watch the temperature. Leaving a window open for too long can make a room uncomfortably cold.
- โณ Think ahead. Temperatures keep changing while you're busy in another room.
- โค๏ธ Protect your home's comfort. Every room matters. If the shared comfort meter reaches zero, it's game over!
๐ฏ Your Goal
Keep all three rooms within a comfortable temperature range until the timer runs out.
Find the balance between cooling down overheated rooms and preventing the cold from taking over. Every decision matters, and neglecting one room can put the whole house at risk!
๐ Made for a Game Jam
Cold Autumn was created as part of a three-day autumn game jam hosted through the Halfbar collaboration.
The jam's themes and constraints were:
- ๐ Autumn
- ๐งฃ Stay Warm
Built within a short development window, this project focuses on a small, complete gameplay experience centered around one simple idea: keeping a home comfortable as autumn temperatures become a challenge.
For our team, this jam was primarily an experiment in collaborative development. Our main goal was to test how well we could organize our work, coordinate different roles, make decisions under time constraints, and bring a project from an initial idea to a finished, playable release in just three days.
Exploring game design, programming, and art was also an important part of the experience, but these were secondary goals. As a result, the quality and polish of individual gameplay, visual, and audio elements may not fully reflect what we could achieve with more time and a different set of priorities. Our main measure of success was the team's ability to work together, learn from the process, and deliver a complete game within the deadline.
